Winners get to watch Tiger Woods in action at the CIMB Classic 2012
KUALA LUMPUR : The CIMB Preferred Golf Challenge 2012 is set to reward three winning participants with the rare opportunity of playing alongside world class professional golfers from the PGA TOUR in the CIMB Classic, Malaysia Pro-Am Tournament, plus the golden tickets to watch Tiger Woods play at the CIMB Classic 2012 in October. Past winners – Bo Van Pelt (2011) and Ben Crane (2010) – will also return to defend their title at the CIMB Classic 2012.
Organised by CIMB Bank for CIMB Preferred customers, the CIMB Preferred Golf Challenge will comprise of three legs and will be played across Malaysia’s renowned golf courses.
The competition is opened to all CIMB Preferred customers who are amateur golfers and possess a valid handicap. All participants must complete 18 holes and no player is allowed to play in more than one round of competition.
The first leg will be held at the Bukit Jawi Golf Resort, Penang on 20 September 2012 while the second and third leg will be held from 26 to 27 September 2012 at Kota Permai Golf & Country Club, Selangor.
The winner of each leg will earn a spot in the CIMB Classic Pro-Am Tournament, and the opportunity of a lifetime to battle it out with world’s top golfers. In addition, participants also stand a chance to win a trip to the USA to watch a PGA TOUR event in 2013 if they hit a hole-in-one. Registration, on first-come-first-served basis, will close by 31 August 2012.
The CIMB Classic, the only PGA TOUR event in the region, will be held from 25 to 28 October at the Mines Resort & Golf Club, Kuala Lumpur. Co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour and now in its third edition, the CIMB Classic 2012 will feature thetop 30 available players from the final FedExCup rankings and the top 10 available players from the Asian Tour Order of Merit, with eight sponsor’s exemptions. The elite field of 48 golfers will compete for a prize purse of US$6.1 million, with US$1.3 million going to the winner. – BERNAMA
