MELAKA, Oct 12 : Natural Resources and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar heads a list of 1,047 people conferred state awards and medals in conjunction with the 79th birthday of the Melaka Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Dr Mohd Khalil Yaakob, tomorrow.
Wan Junaidi, who is also Santubong member of parliament, is one of the 12 recipients of the Darjah Gemilang Seri Melaka (DGSM), which carries the title “Datuk Seri”.
He will receive the award together with 215 other recipients at the first session of the investiture ceremony this Saturday (Oct 14).
The investiture of the second session, which involves 432 recipients, will be held on Nov 4 while the third session, involving 400 recipients on Nov 5.
Other DGSM recipients include Melaka Education, Higher Education, Science and Technology, Green Technology and Innovation Committee Chairman Datuk Md Yunos Husin; state Information, Communications and Cooperative Committee Chairman Datuk Latif Tamby Chik; UMNO Executive-Secretary Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh; Melaka MCA Vice-Chairman Datuk Soon Tian Szu; businessman Tan Sri Syed Mohd Yusof Tun Syed Nasir; Magna Prima Berhad Group Managing Director Datuk Rahadian Mahmud Mohamed Khalil; and PDG Property Director Datuk Gwee Yew Kiat.
EOSH Properties Sdn Bhd Executive Director Ng Kim Leng will receive the honourary DGSM, which carries the same title.
Thirty people will receive the Darjah Cemerlang Seri Melaka (DCSM), which carries the title “Datuk Wira” , including Deputy Tourism and Culture Minister Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin; Deputy Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Halimah Mohamed Sadique; Chief of Army Gen Tan Sri Zulkiple Kassim; Melaka Housing, Local Government and Environment Committee Chairman Datuk Ismail Othman; Tourism and Culture Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Ab Ghaffar A. Tambi; Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Mohammad Mentek.

They include Melaka High Court Judge Datuk Vazeer Alam Mydin Meera; state Police Chief Datuk Abdul Jalil Hassan; Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department Deputy Director Saiful Azly Kamaruddin; Cardiology Specialist Dr Akmal Hakim Arshad; and MyWorld Holdings Group Managing Director Dr Tan Hang Ming.
A total of 121 people receive the Darjah Pangkuan Seri Melaka (DPSM), which carries the title “Datuk” including the wife of State Legislative Assembly Speaker Datin Halimah Baba; The Malaysian Times Sdn Bhd CEO and Media Consultant, Anbumani Balan, National Archives of Malaysia Director-General Azemi Abdul Aziz; Department of National Unity and Integration Director-General Baharin Idris; Deputy State Secretary (Management) Maslina Baki; District Officer of the Alor Gajah District and Land Office Daud Hassan; District Officer of the Melaka Tengah District and Land Office Anis Ali Hassan @ Mohd Yasam and Melaka Chief Minister Corporation General Manager Ab Rahman Ismail.
