Trader gets 5 days’ jail, RM3,000 fine for stabbing bus driver

KANGAR, Dec 7: A trader was sentenced to five days’ jail and fined RM3,000 in default eight months’ jail by the Magistrate’s Court here today, after he pleaded guilty to causing injuries to an express bus driver last month.

Magistrate Shamshol Azwa Martadza handed down the sentence to Kong Yeow How, 42, who used a knife to inflict injuries on Mohd Fakhri Yahya, 33.

The accused from Pekan Sayur, Kaki Bukit near here, committed the offence at Kangar Bus Station here on Nov 16, at 11.02am.

He was charged under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntary causing grievous hurt.

The prosecution was conducted by deputy public prosecutor Mohd Farhan Aliff Ahmad, while the accused was represented by counsel Asmaniza Abdullah.–Bernama
