SERDANG, Mar 6: Putra Business School, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) now offers a new programme, Master in Business Administration (MBA) in marketing and Certified Professional Marketer (CPM) Asia Certification.
Putra Business School president and chief executive officer Prof. Dr Zulkornain Yusop said the MBA programme was the first of its kind and makes Putra Business School the first private institution of higher learning in the country to collaborate with a professional body, Institute of Marketing Malaysia (IMM).
“This new MBA programme is certainly a value added qualification offered by the Putra Business School to its graduates specialising in marketing and giving them the competitive edge and higher marketability not only in the country but also around the region,” he added when met at the signing of a memorandum of agreement (MoA) between Putra Business School and IMM at UPM here today.
The MoA signing ceremony was witnessed by honorary fellow of IMM Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz and UPM Vice Chancellor Datin Paduka Aini Ideris.
Elaborating on the MBA programme, Zulkornain said it would begin this May and would have three intakes per year.
“This MBA programme caters for the needs of top managers and would focus on marketing leadership skills. The classes also fit working people such as evening and weekend classes,” he said.
Speaking to reporters after witnessing the MoA, Rafidah said she hoped the MBA programme could produce marketers who are market driven at domestic, regional and global level.
“Malaysians need to reboot the best of Malaysian culture through products and services that people can create and market in a way that reflects the best of Malaysia,” she added.
