SEREMBAN, April 23 – Pearl Haya Sdn Bhd, a company which produces the Pearl Haya brand of headscarves, is now moving to start production of Muslim clothing to be marketed from this month. Its director Zetty Rosli described the move as a strategy by Pearl Haya to diversify its business.”The Muslim fashion attire will be created by Pearl Haya without the help of outside designers.
“We actually want to highlight a fashion that covers the body for all, that is, Muslims and non-Muslims. The production of shirts (tops), pants and Muslim robes is being undertaken, based on the request from Pearl Haya headscarve users for matching clothing,” she said.
She said for the moment, the Muslim clothing is just for the local market. Pearl Haya, formed in 2008, has also picked singer Ana Raffalo as its ambassador to promote the company’s products. Pearl Haya headscarves which reflect a modern and unique trend, can now be obtained throughout Malaysia, in Brunei and also London.
It has a staff of 250 and operates three boutiques, two in Senawang and the other in Shah Alam. Pearl Haya has also more than 40 registered agents throughout the country and six appointed distributors for Melaka, Perak, Pahang, Sarawak, Pulau Pinang and Brunei.
