Najib refutes LRT contract claims
Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak
KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has refuted accusations that he had interfered in awarding the contract for the extension of the Ampang LRT.
“No such thing (as interference),” said Najib after chairing a Barisan Nasional supreme council meeting here.
PKR has claimed to have documents that prove that the Prime Minister had a hand in awarding the contract to a consortium, which it said had been eliminated during the bidding process.
There have been allegations that the consortium had failed the technical and commercial evaluation for the RM960mil contract.
Yesterday, an officer with Syarikat Prasarana Negara Berhad, which operates the LRT, had confirmed that a Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) team had visited its offices.
“We think they are reacting to the (irregularities) claim (in the newsportals),” SPNB media affairs manager Azhar Ghazali said – The Star
