HTC makes its One S smartphone available 

PETALING JAYA: Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC has launched the One S, completing its One family of products. Featuring an ultra-slim 7.9mm metal unibody, the device has a subtle light-to-dark gradient-fade colouring throughout the aluminium chassis.

On the inside, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.7GHz dual-core processor and 4.3in Super AMOLED touchscreen made of contoured Corning Gorilla Glass, with optical lamination to offer wide viewing angles. Running on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) operating system with HTC Sense 4 – the latest version of HTC’s own user interface – it also has Beats Audio technology integrated deeply throughout its multimedia features.

 

The 8-megapixel camera features a bright f/2.0 lens and auto HDR mode for better pictures, with HTC ImageSense technology for fast image capture, even under adverse lighting conditions.

 

HTC has also partnered with Dropbox to provide consumers with 25-gigabytes of free online space for two years. The One S is available for RM1,838. For more information, go to www.htc.com.

 

On the road

 

In conjunction with the launch of the One S, the first HTC Mobile Truck – a roaming live product showcase – was also unveiled.The truck will be stopping at various shopping malls throughout Kuala Lumpur, allowing consumers to get hands-on experiences with HTC’s One series of smartphones. Available exclusively via the Mobile Truck, visitors can grab a limited edition One S that is bundled with a Beats Solo headset for RM2,199 in total, in addition to other deals.
