Heavy downpour causes flash floods, massive traffic jams in Klang Valley
PETALING JAYA: Heavy rain overnight caused flash floods in some areas of the Klang Valley, while Monday morning traffic slowed to a crawl along certain roads.

Motorists tweeted that there was a massive jam on the DUKE highway, from Gombak heading to Petaling Jaya, as well as along Jalan Kelang Lama heading towards Kuala Lumpur. Flashfloods were reported at Jalan Kuching, before the ramp into the Segambut roundabout.
The SMART Tunnel website said it was closed to traffic due to a heavy downpour and to enable the flood mitigation system to be operational. The tunnel was opened to south-bound traffic Sunday after being closed on May 2. However, tweets from KL Traffic Updates and AMP Radio later in the morning said the tunnel had been opened in both directions.
