Hady Mirzagive back at RIA 89.7FM Charity Flea Market

SINGAPORE: A grey jacket signed by Hady Mirza that he had only worn once, and hasn’t been laundered yet. A T-shirt, cap, jacket and shoes ensemble that was a part of Taufik Batisah’s old wardrobe before he decided to change his image.

These are just some of the special items donated by a slew of stars like Didicazli, SleeQ, Boy RAVEN, Zoul and Asmah Laili which will be put up for sale at the RIA 89.7FM booth during the RIA 89.7FM Charity Flea Market.

Organised by Singapore Malay music radio station RIA 89.7FM to raise funds for the underprivileged children at its adopted charity, the Pertapis Children’s Home, the flea market will be held on Saturday from 10am to 6pm at the Pertapis Halfway House in Geylang.

Malay celebrities such as Didicazli, SleeQ and “The Noose” actor Suhaimi Yusof will also make an appearance at the charity flea market, which will have a variety of other booths that sell a range of goods like food, fashion items and electrical gadgets as well.

“In November last year, we brought our listeners closer to the underprivileged children at Pertapis Children’s Home via an intensive 8-week charity drive [called] Skoolz Gives Back.

“There was an overwhelming response from the listeners, with donations and items pouring in during, and even after the campaign,” said RIA 89.7FM’s Acting Assistant Program Director Aura Shai.

“This year, with the rising costs and an increased number of children enrolled at Pertapis Children’s Home, we hope to assist them in sustaining the operational cost of the programmes and support services that they provide to these children,” she continued.

“We decided to do something different, in the form of a flea market and charity auction, to raise funds for our adopted charity. We hope that it will garner as much support, if not more, from our listeners.”
