The most common and the biggest misconception I have come across in my entire life is thinking food is the enemy when it comes to weight loss.
Various researches show that certain kinds of food actually increase your metabolism, which in turn allows your body to burn fat faster. For all the foodies out there, TMT will tell you the 5 foods that can make you burn unwanted fat.
So, here’s the secret- Eating a lot of NUTS like peanuts and pine nuts help fight weight gain and also lowers Triglycerides, which is a type of fat in the bloodstream and fat tissue. Excess of this fat might cause diseases such as diabetes, obesity, kidney failure and high blood pressure. Certain nuts like pine nuts make you lose your appetite and prevent the formation of belly fat.
This might be the most unbelievable fact but SPICY FOOD actually helps to burn the fat in the body. Spicy foods like jalapenos, red chillies and peppers do more than just add flavour to the food. They, to an extent, help in digestion and burn the fat after eating. Research shows that the main compound in most chilies, which is capsaicin, has an effect that causes the body to burn extra calories up to 20 minutes after eating time. You would be surprised to know that capsaicin also slows the spread of cancer, according to the American Cancer Society.
We all know that EGGS are the best sources of proteins but we might not know that people who eat eggs for breakfast paired with carbs lose twice as much weight as those who just eat carb heavy breakfast.
One of my favourites, OATS are full of healthy fiber. Studies have proven that they reduce the risk of heart diseases and fight high cholesterol. They take a long time to get digested; hence keeping you full for a long time. Not only this, they are supposed to help you sleep better. Ah! Tell me about it!
A very well-known saying, “An apple a day, keeps the doctor away … and a few kilos as well” Yes ladies, apples reduce the fat content in our body. Because they are high in a molecule called pectin, which helps in less absorption of fat by the cells in the body. They are also high in soluble fibre and keep our stomachs filled for a long time.
