Felda’s Listing Will Generate Wealth For Settlers- PM
PUTRAJAYA : Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said the listing of Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGH) on Bursa Malaysia today will generate potential wealth that will be distributed to more than 112,000 Felda settlers.
He said Felda Global Ventures, the world’s third largest oil palm plantations operator, recorded a historic listing on Bursa today with the second largest Initial Public Offering for this year after Facebook Inc.
“This is not an allocation from the government but in fact wealth that we have generated so that it could be then distributed to all the settlers,” he said during an evening chat session between the prime minister and professors and associate professors from the institutions of higher learning at Seri Perdana here Thursday.
FGH closed trade on Bursa today on a strong footing with a share price of RM5.30 after a dynamic debut of RM5.39 per share, representing a premium of 84 sen from its offer price of RM4.55.
Market players meanwhile said FGV’s closing price at RM5.30 per share with a premium of 75 sen and a volume of 2.615 million lots had surpassed expectations.
