Civil service retirees still vital in nation building, says G. Palanivel 

GENTING HIGHLANDS 31 March — Retired civil servants should become the backbone of the federal government said Minister in the Prime Ministers Department Datuk Seri G. Palanivel today. Palanivel, also MIC President was addressing a national seminar for retired civil servants at Genting Highlands today. Retired civil servants should continue to work closely with government.

 

He said, that he made a suggestion to the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak last year to make it mandatory to keep increasing the pensions of retired government servants. ” I am happy when the Prime Minister made the announcement to keep increasing the pensions of governments servants. He is definitely on path to improvement the live hood of governments servants.

 

Now moves have been introduced to send medicines from governments hospitals to home of the governments who cannot go to hospital for treatments”, he said, Palanivel said he was happy to see more 300 retired Indians governments servants attended today seminar. Also present at the seminar was President of retired civil servants association Datuk Haji Wan Mahmood and organizing Chairman Dr. Anthonysamy.
