PEKAN, May 12– Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said today that Barisan Nasional (BN) government would make “tomorrow a better day than today” for the people and youth in the country.
Addressing 10,000 youths at the launch of the YO! Carnival and Malaysia Skills Competition 2012 here, Najib said the government was in the midst of implementing various transformation programmes to realise this vision. He also expressed confidence that the younger generation would continue supporting the BN leadership.
“The BN government cares for the younger generation, I’m confident that they will stick with BN.
“And we will provide them with a better tomorrow,” he said.
Present were his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor and Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob. Najib said the BN government was spearheading transformation in the country for the benefitt of future generations.
“What matters is for the young people to progress further and we will continue providing job opportunities to them,” he said. The prime minister said all agencies, be they governmental or non-governmental, should also organise youth-related programmes and activities.
“It’s not worth organising a programme if it does not connect with youths. We have to plan programmes that are close to their hearts, so that we are connected to the youths,” he said. He added that although some youth groups participated in the rally in the federal capital that turned violent recently, he was confident that the vast majority of youths solidly backed the BN government.
