Best Destination 2012 Travel Awards for PWTC

KUALA LUMPUR: The Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) in Malaysia had won the Best Destination 2012 Award for the best meeting and conference centre for Asia. This was awarded by London-based Business Destinations magazine, an industry leading magazine for international MICE(meeting,incentive,convention and exhibiton) managers and corporate travel managers.

 

The building was officially opened on 2 September 1985 by former Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammad, during the first UMNO General Assembly, and has been a staging area for UMNO General Assemblies eversince. This building is also used yearly for the International Quran Reading Competition , since it moved from Stadium Merdeka in 1985.

PWTC is the biggest exhibition hall in Malaysia. With a reputation for excellence and a track record of enviable success, PWTC has successfully accommodated events on a big and small scale. Located next to the PWTC building is the RentNow Serviced Apartments which provides daily or weekly rental to PWTC event visitors or exhibitors.

 

A World Trade Centre ( WTC) is a building or complex of buildings established and effectively operated by the World Trade Centres Association (WTCA) as an instrument for trade expansion.

 

A World Trade Center puts all the services associated with global commerce under one roof to foster networking processes among corporations and governments. Countrys like Singapore, Tokyo, Korea, Hong Kong owns their own WTC.
